More than 3,500 attended Nee Soon Pets Fiesta

The carnival attracted more than 3,500 people, and pet lovers completed the race with their beloved little pets, doing yoga, and got to know other cats and dogs.

After three years, more than 3,500 pet lovers gathered at the MPC @ Khatib opposite Khatib MRT on Saturday, 16 September 2023 to participate in the pets fiesta organised by Nee Soon GRC.

Besides cats and dogs, rabbits, parrots and hamsters are also the best buddies for many pet owners.

A total of 70 pet suppliers and 10 animal welfare organisations participated in the carnival, with the aim of promoting responsible pet keeping and building an inclusive and pet loving community.

At the carnival, residents were not only able to do yoga with puppies under the leadership of professional coaches. To enhance their intimacy with pets, they also participated in the race between their pets and the dogs.

Mr K. Shanmugam said: “Yishun has been very popular with residents and pet lovers since the Pet Fiesta that was held in 2015. They are all excited to bring their pets with them to participate and interact. We can also help young people understand the importance of treating animals well.”

In addition, there are a variety of booths providing pet rearing tips, guidance and selling pet products for animal lovers to choose from, and to exchange information on pet keeping.

Other Nee Soon GRC MPs including Minister of Home Affairs and Minister of State for National Development, Assoc Prof Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, Derrick Goh, Carrie Tan Huimin, and Louis Ng Kok Kwang also attended the event.
